Your tour will begin at 3:00 PM with a pick-up from your hotel, followed by a transfer to the city of Lamas, which Antonio Raymondo called the “City of Three Levels.”

The first activity will be a visit to the local museum, where you will learn about the history of this culture and view a collection of ceramics, textiles, paintings, and representations of the main festivals and traditions of the Lamas people.

Our next stop will be the Lamas Castle, where, exploring its various rooms, bridges, and levels, you will have the best photo opportunities of this picturesque building inspired by medieval castles. Afterward, you will also have the opportunity to sample chocolates and visit the cigar shop.

Finally, we will descend to the Quechua native community of “El Wayku,” founded in 1438, which to this day preserves its ancestral customs, language, and traditional clothing. Overnight stay in Tarapoto.

After breakfast at the hotel, your transportation will pick you up to visit one of the region’s most important natural treasures: Laguna Azul (Blue Lagoon). After 30 minutes, we’ll finally arrive in the town of Sauce, home to cheerful and welcoming residents who make their living from tourism and fishing. At the lakeside port, a boat will be waiting to take us on a tour of the lagoon, where you can appreciate the lush vegetation, the beauty of the lake, the sounds of nature, and the locals at work fishing. You’ll also have the option to enjoy water sports and adventure activities such as zip-lining, jet skiing, and more, and take a dip in the warm waters of the lagoon.

This day will also offer the opportunity to sample delicious regional cuisine at a lunch with a variety of options to suit all tastes. Overnight in Tarapoto.

We depart in the early hours of the morning to immerse ourselves in the Santa Elena Reserve with the first rays of sunlight.

Accompanied by our local guides, guardians of this magical ecosystem, we will travel by water for two hours through the Santa Elena wetlands, a place that is home to a great variety of trees, ferns, and diverse fauna, including monkeys, birds, otters, and more.

After a hearty breakfast, we will continue our journey to the source of the Tioyacu River, which forms whimsical natural pools of green and turquoise hues as it flows. Overnight in Tarapoto.

On your last day, visit the Ahuashiyacu and Golondrinas waterfalls. We’ll make a brief stop at a viewpoint halfway through the tour.

We depart early at 5:00 am. The 6-7 hour journey from Cusco includes stops along the way, such as at the Chullpas of Ninamarca (a pre-Incan cemetery). We then descend into the inter-Andean valleys to the town of Paucartambo, a place steeped in history. After visiting this charming town, we head towards Acjanaco, the gateway to Manu National Park.

From there, we descend into the cloud forest, where we’ll hike to observe countless orchids and birds such as quetzals, toucans, and multicolored tanagers.

Afterward, we’ll go to our lodge, settle in, and spend the night. Overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, we’ll search for Peru’s national bird, the Andean Cock-of-the-rock (Rupicola peruviano), which performs a unique courtship ritual. We’ll then continue our descent through these dense, lush forests to the village of Pilcopata, and then on to the port of Atalaya, located on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River. From there, we’ll begin our descent by motorboat to observe the enormous diversity of bird species, such as herons, vultures, cormorants, and more, until we reach our private reserve.
