Inca Jungle 4 Days / 3 Nights

INCA
DAY 1: CUSCO - ABRA MALAGA - HUAMANMARCA - SANTA MARIA

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco at 5:30 a.m. and head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where we will have a quick breakfast. Then we will continue to Abra Malaga, the highest point of our tour. From here, we will begin our mountain biking tour. After a brief explanation of how to ride the bikes, we will hand out the equipment and gear. The descent takes approximately three hours.

During the descent, you will see how the landscape changes from misty mountains at the beginning to lush jungle. Along the way, we will stop several times to check the bikes and equipment until we reach Huamanmarca. From there, we will take transportation to Santa María, where we will have lunch and check into our assigned accommodation for the night.

In the afternoon, we will go rafting on the Vilcanota River in class III and IV rapids. We will provide you with the necessary equipment. After the activity, we will return to the town of Santa María for dinner and then rest up for the next day.

In the morning after breakfast, we will walk for 45 minutes before ascending. During this walk, we will make several stops to enjoy the flora and fauna that this area has to offer. We will also stop at a family home to learn about the traditions and customs of this region of Cusco.

Afterwards, we will cross a section of the original Inca trail that connects to the Machu Picchu valley. Here, our guide will take the opportunity to teach you about the history of the Incas and their communication system. We will also be able to contemplate some of the most amazing views of the Huancarccasa Canyon and see the majestic Salkantay mountain.

Then we will descend to Huacayupana for a delicious lunch at a local house, where our transport will pick us up to take us to Santa Teresa. There, you can enjoy one of the exciting activities we offer, such as zip-lining through the mountainous valley. Later, we will relax in the hot springs of Cocalmayo, where you can spend some time resting in the thermal medicinal waters before our transport picks us up and takes us to our camp in Lucmabamba, where we will have dinner and rest.

On this day, you will wake up very early to enjoy a nutritious breakfast, then begin the hike where you will have the opportunity to walk along a small section of the Inca Trail. You will be able to explore the tropical forest for a while before taking a stroll through an organic farm, which is an excellent place for coffee lovers, as you will be able to taste and learn more about the coffee harvest.

Later, we will walk for three hours until we reach the great Inca site of Llactapata, located opposite Machu Picchu. You will enjoy this site with your guide, who will explain the history of the Incas and how they built this wonderful place. Afterwards, we will continue our hike for another hour and a half to Aobamba where we will have lunch. Once we have eaten, we will go to the hydroelectric station. From there, you will have two options: take the train (not included) or walk along the train tracks until you reach the town of Aguas Calientes.

Upon arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes, we will take you to your respective accommodations with private bathrooms, hot showers, Wi-Fi, and cable TV. You can store your luggage and take advantage of the thermal baths. In the evening, we will meet for dinner and give you a brief overview of the next day. Then you will rest so you can leave very early before sunrise the next day.

Today we will wake up very early and head to the Aguas Calientes bus terminal to go up to the Machu Picchu Archaeological Complex. Once at the complex, you will enjoy a tour of approximately 2 hours with a guide who will visit the most important parts: houses, temples, terraces, farmlands, among others.

After your incredible guided tour of the city, we will return to Aguas Calientes where we will have lunch before boarding the train back to the town of Ollantaytambo, where transportation will be waiting to take you to the city of Cusco. End of service.
